Named for the striking reddish-orange fur on their hands and feet, these guys look like they showed up to the jungle already ready for adventure.
Red-handed tamarins roam the rainforests of northeastern South America — think Brazil, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana. They thrive in both dense jungle and disturbed forest edges, making them surprisingly adaptable little survivors.
Fruits, flowers, insects, small reptiles — red-handed tamarins eat like they're at a jungle buffet. They're fast, agile, and never miss a meal.
Like their tamarin cousins, these monkeys are big on family. They live in groups of 4–15 and share babysitting duties like pros. Twins are common, and the whole crew chips in to keep the little ones safe.
